The *ICBC Motorcycle Skills Test (MST)* is a brief, off-road practical examination in British Columbia designed to test a rider’s basic vehicle control before they are allowed on public roads unsupervised. Conducted in a closed parking lot, the roughly 15-minute test evaluates low-speed balance, steering, throttle and clutch control, and emergency braking through specific maneuvers including a slow-speed straight ride, a slalom through cones, tight U-turns, and a controlled quick stop from 25–30 km/h. Riders must also demonstrate a pre-trip inspection, proper hand signals, and knowledge of the bike’s primary controls before attempting the riding circuits.
